Professional palaeography services for genealogists, family historians, local historians, archivists, writers, researchers and students.
 
TSL will accurately transcribe historic documents, records or manuscripts (e.g. old Wills, inventories or deeds) written in English of all periods.
 
We also provide deciphering, transcription and translation of old documents in Latin or French, including expansion of abbreviation & coherent literal translation into English.

Our genealogists provide a reliable Family History Research Service for clients with ancestors originating in the British Isles, i.e. England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
 
They can also research the history of houses, or other buildings, and people associated with them.
 
 
TSL will transcribe audio recordings (in English or French) of oral history,
life story, personal memoirs or recollections.
 
 
Send us your faded, spotted, stained, scratched, torn or degraded photographs and we will rescue them, bring them back to life.
 
From an original negative, slide, print or photo album we will provide a restored image to help preserve your photo for future generations.
 
 
Proof-reading service for business and education, also individual clients such as writers, researchers and university students.
 
We will proof-read theses and dissertations written in English by students for whom English is not their first language.

Founded in 1998 at Douglas on the Isle of Man, Transcription Services Ltd is an established company with twelve years experience providing professional legal transcription of court proceedings on the Isle of Man, audio transcription services for business and a variety of secretarial, typing and transcription services, locally and internationally.  We have experience of working with the legal, medical and educational professions.
 
We also offer a specialist service transcribing and translating old documents, manuscripts and records written in English, Latin, and French.
 
Linda Watson took over management of the company in March 2008, having previously worked with TSL for several years as a transcriber.  With an established team of typists, transcribers and translators to call upon, we are able to handle any size of job, large or small.
